Nagging wife or selfish husband? Why not get a divorce?
LIGHT-HEARTED fun or wrongly making light of the serious issue of divorce? You be the judge.
Federov Family Lawyers Robina director and former Murwillumbah lawyer Marie Federov decided she needed a marketing tactic, something that would be eye-catching and different from usual advertising fare.
And so the controversial, and some may argue amusing, divorce flyer started making the rounds, before attracting the attention of Tweed residents.
Focused on stereotypes and what Mrs Federov described as common feelings leading to divorce, the flyer quickly gained attention, both on the internet and in social circles.
Mrs Federov said, while some people may find the flyer offensive, maybe they should take a look in the mirror.
"I was looking at doing some marketing and to be honest you want to put something out there to attract attention," she said.
"Some of it is the men's side and the women's side and what people generally say."
Mrs Federov said while some people may find the flyer offensive, maybe they should take a look in the mirror.
"If it's close to home people may need the help," she said.
"It's quite light-hearted, that's the point."
Mrs Federov said she had received a few upset responses after the flyers' distribution.
"I have had some controversial comments made," she said.
"It definitely wasn't meant for everybody.
"(But) I didn't mean to offend anybody."
Mrs Federov admitted being grateful for the publicity she had gained as a result of the flyers, with Tweed residents joining the queue for her family law services.
"I take the stress out of the situation," she said.
"It's my job, at the end of the day."
