Man, 45, charged over abseiling from Story Bridge

POLICE have charged a man after he allegedly tried to abseil from the Story Bridge.

Police said were called around 1.45pm following reports of a man abseiling from the bridge.

Following coordination with other emergency services, the man was lowered onto a Water Police boat and was taken to shore where he was taken into custody.

No one was injured as a result of the incident.

A 42-year-old Mount Gravatt East man has been charged with one count of unregulated high risk activities and is due to appear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court on August 4.
