TWEED police had to subdue a man who became violent while being arrested on Sunday.

Police were called to a Tweed Heads South address about 1pm in response to a report of a domestic dispute.

According to police, the 47-year-old man wrestled with police while he was being led away

The man, who had outstanding warrants, was subdued and handcuffed.

He was refused bail and will appear at Tweed Heads Local Court today.
