Man with hammer stops traffic

A MAN waving a hammer on the Pacific Highway at Banora Point brought traffic to a standstill yesterday afternoon.

When Tweed police arrived at Barneys Point Bridge, the 23-year-old man jumped over the guard rail and ran into a nearby unit.

He was arrested and charged and will appear at Tweed Heads Local Court in March.
