Man airlifted after Toormina industrial accident

UPDATE 1:15PM: The man has been freed and is being transferred to the Westpac Rescue Lifesaver Helicopter, which will fly him to the Gold Coast for treatment.

 

EARLIER: FIREFIGHTERS and SES members are working to free a man whose arm has been caught in machinery at a Toormina business.

The 50-year-old is trapped by his wrist in a milling machine at a recycling depot on Hulbert's Rd. 

Ambulance media said paramedics responded to the incident at around 10.30am.

The Westpac Rescue Lifesaver Helicopter is on the scene and once freed the man will be airlifted to the Gold Coast for emergency surgery.
