Man charged, another on run following knife point robbery

A MAN has been charged following the alleged attempted robbery of a man in a car park at Golden Beach.

It will be alleged around 9.50am a 62-year-old man was in the driver's seat of a vehicle parked on Landsborough Parade when he was approached by two men, one armed with a knife.

The armed man allegedly dragged the driver from the vehicle and punched him in the head, before he managed to flee to a nearby business.

A 19-year-old Marcoola man was charged with one count each of attempted armed robbery, assault occasioning bodily harm, stealing and obstruct police.

He is due to appear in Maroochydore Magistrates Court today.

Investigations are continuing.
