Police arrest man who allegedly forced way into home

A MAN has been charged following an alleged assault at a home in Eimeo overnight.

Police will allege the man forced his way into the home on Danastas Avenue just before 11pm.

Once inside the house it will be alleged the man assaulted another man, punching him in the face and threatening him with a knife.

Police say officers responded to reports of the assault and took a man into custody at the scene.

A 33-year-old man received minor injuries to his hand and face during the incident but did not require transportation to hospital.

The men were known to each other.

A 30-year-old Rural View man has been charged with one count each of deprivation of liberty, assault occasioning bodily harm, enter dwelling with intent, wilful damage and obstruct police.

He is due to appear in Mackay Magistrates Court on February 12.
