Man dies after motorbike crash

A MAN has died after a motorbike crash in Numinbah Valley.

A Queensland Ambulance spokeswoman said emergency services were called to Nerang-Murwillumbah Rd, 2km north of the NSW border, just after 9am Sunday.

A witness who called Triple-0 conducted CPR before ambulance arrived, the spokeswoman said.

While a rescue helicopter was tasked to assist, the 48-year-old rider died at the scene.

The spokeswoman said the rider, who was travelling northbound, was found about 20 metres down an embankment.

She said it was always encouraged for bystanders to commence CPR before ambulance personnel arrive.

"It's bystander CPR that saves lives," she said.

"We always encourage people who are first on scene to conduct CPR."

If you don't know how to conduct CPR, she said Triple-0 operators would offer instruction.
