Man dies in Coolangatta surf

A MAN has died after being pulled from the surf at Coolangatta on Thursday night.

Around 6.15pm paramedics treated three men and transported them to Tweed Hospital.

A Queensland Ambulance spokesman was unsure how the men came to be in trouble or who had pulled them from the surf.

A 25-year-old man died on the way to hospital despite efforts by paramedics to revive him.

A 20-year-old man was alert by the time the ambulance reached the hospital and a third man, also aged in his 20s, is recovering in Robina Hospital.
