Man found dead in car at Bluesfest
SUNDAY 11:05AM: A NSW Police Force spokesperson has confirmed the 44-year-old man found deceased at Bluesfest is from the Tweed Region.
The spokesperson said that at this stage inquiries suggest the death is not suspicious.
SATURDAY 4.30PM: A 44-year-old man has been found dead in a car at Bluesfest in Tyagarah, just north of Byron Bay.
Tweed/Byron Local Area Command (LAC) Police Chief Inspector Gary Cowan confirmed the death.
He said friends of the man notified a medic at about 2.30pm today.
Chief Inspector Cowan said a medic performed CPR but was unable to revive the man.
Police were notified and the area was cordoned off.
Forensic investigators have been called to the scene.
A post-mortem will be conducted to determine the cause of death.
It's unknown at this stage what may have caused the man's death.
Chief Inspector Cowan said police were currently in the process of notifying friends and family of the deceased man.
He said police media would be releasing a statement concerning the death later this evening.
