Man injured during Coolangatta robbery

AN 18-year-old man sustained minor injuries during a robbery at Coolangatta last night.

According to Coolangatta Police Sergeant Steve Quinn, the victim was walking along Miles St, Coolangatta between 9 and 10pm when two assailants threatened him and attempted to take his possessions, such as his wallet and mobile phone.

"The young bloke was walking along the road and was approached by two other young fellas attempting to take his personal property'," Sgt Quinn said.

The 18-year-old refused to hand over the items and was assaulted, losing his personal belongings in the process.

"He was transferred to hospital with superficial injuries," Sgt Quinn said.
