Man jailed for violent rampage

A MAN has been jailed for a violent, alcohol-fuelled rampage through a Gold Coast mall that left six people injured.

Brisbane District Court Judge Milton Griffon on Tuesday sentenced Dion Gerhard Pydde, 24, to four-and-a-half years jail for the incident in January last year, to be suspended after two years.

The court was told Pydde had been drinking for two days when he and Finks bikie Nick “The Knife” Forbes indiscriminately attacked men and women enjoying a night out on the Gold Coast.

CCTV cameras in the Broadbeach Mall captured the pair punching and kicking people as they walked along the street.

One victim was punched so hard he suffered a fractured eye socket that required surgery.

Another was knocked unconscious and stomped on when the victim berated the pair for attacking women.

Forbes was sentenced in September last year to three-and-a-half years over the attacks.
