Man may hold key to robbery
GOLD Coast detectives in the Serious and Violent Crime Squad have released images of a man they want to interview in relation to a Coolangatta armed robbery.
Detectives said the man is not considered to be a suspect but may have information that would assist detectives.
The images are from inside the Kirra Sports Club days before it was robbed on June 6, 2011.
About 6am, a man approached an employee of the Appel St club as he arrived for work.
Police alleged the offender produced a handgun and threatened the employee.
The man has then forced the employee to open a safe in the premises before securing the employee and fleeing with money.
The offender is described as being between 175-180cm tall with a solid build.
At the time of the offence the offender was wearing a black balaclava, a black jacket with a grey hood, black tracksuit pants with a thin white stripe down the leg, white and blue gloves and white runners.
