Man realises motorbike is stolen when registering it

LISMORE Police have seized a motorbike that was stolen in Queensland 12 months ago and sold multiple times before ending up being bought from the Gold Coast by a Lismore man.

The man realised the bike was stolen when he tried to register it at the RMS.

With the numerous trading websites, we must remain vigilant and conduct our checks before buying second hand goods, police warned on the Richmond Local Area Command Facebook page.

"Don't forget, possessing stolen goods is an offence," police said.

"You don't have to know the items were stolen either.

"So please, be wise with your purchases."
