Man refused bail after pursuit from Murwillumbah to Uki

A MAN was refused bail after an alleged police pursuit in Murwillumbah early yesterday morning.

Police were conducting patrols of the Murwillumbah township about 12.40am when they saw a white Kia.

Officers attempted to stop the vehicle upon Byangum Rd and a pursuit began when the driver allegedly failed to stop.

Police said the pursuit continued onto Kyogle Rd and reached speeds of up to 110kmh.

The male driver was finally arrested at Uki.

He was later charged with police pursuit and driving while disqualified.

He was refused bail and was due to face Tweed Heads Local Court later that day.
