Man smashed with bottle

POLICE are looking for three men who allegedly invaded a home at Bilambil Heights and hit a man over the head with a bottle on Sunday night.

Police said about 9.30pm, a 31-year-old man answered the door of his Marana Rd home and was struck with a bottle.

Three men, armed with unknown objects, stormed into the man’s house and continued to assault him, police said.

Police have been told the men then stole an amount of cash and other items before fleeing.

Tweed Byron officers were called to the house and began establishing a crime scene. A search of the surrounding area failed to locate the intruders. Paramedics treated the man for head injuries before he was taken to Tweed Hospital for observation.

He was later released.

Two of the men are described as being of Caucasian appearance, aged 20 to 25 years and about 180cm to 185cm. Police were not given a description of the third man but believe the victim knew the men who attacked him.

Anyone with information should call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
