Man stable after Murwillumbah industrial accident
UPDATE, TUE 10.55am: The 60 year-old man injured in an industrial accident at South Murwillumbah yesterday is recovering in hospital.
The man was airlifted to Gold Coast University Hospital after his legs were crushed by steel beams in an industrial accident at South Murwillumbah.
While no further information regarding the man’s pelvic and leg injuries has been provided, a Gold Coast University Hospital spokesperson has confirmed the man was stable.
“He’s in a stable condition,” the spokesperson said.
“We’re unable to give any more information, but he’s happy for people to know he’s stable.”
The man was in a serious condition when airlifted by Life Flight yesterday.
ORIGINAL STORY: A MAN has been airlifted to Gold Coast University Hospital after his legs were crushed by steel beams in an industrial accident at South Murwillumbah.
Emergency services personnel were called to the job site on Honeyeater Cct at about 11.20am.
The 60-year-old man suffered severe leg and pelvic injuries when an estimated two tonne of steel beams fell on him.
The man was trapped under the beams when emergency workers arrived.
The man was treated at the scene for about an hour before he was flown to the Gold Coast for treatment.
The man was in a serious condition.
