Jewellery store worker tied up during armed robbery

A MALE store employee was tied up after armed robbers stormed a jewellery store in Maryborough on Friday afternoon.

About 4.30pm, a man and a woman entered the Gillhespy T J Watchmaker and Jewellery store in Adelaide St.

Armed with a knife, the man made demands for money.

The store employee complied and handed over a sum of cash from the register.

The man and woman then tied the hands of the store employee behind his back and also took jewellery before fleeing the store.

No one was physically injured during the incident.

The man is described as Caucasian in appearance, in his mid to late 30s, with dark balding hair.

The woman is of Caucasian appearance, in her mid to late-30s with long dark brown hair.
