Man treated after alleged flick knife stabbing

A MAN was taken to Tweed Hospital after he was stabbed at Palm Beach last night.

Queensland Police said a man, 55, was sitting on a park bench on the corner of Jefferson Lane and Palm Beach Ave, drinking with a woman, when they were joined by a 40-year-old man about 7.20pm.

The trio continued to drink together and a disagreement broke out between the men.

The 40-year-old man allegedly used a flick knife to stab the other man in the abdomen. The woman drove the victim to Tweed Hospital and he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

The accused was located by police at a service station on the Gold Coast Hwy about 11.30pm and investigations are continuing.
