Man wanted over abduction, assault

POLICE have released a computer-generated photo of a man wanted over the abduction and sexual assault of a Sydney schoolgirl earlier this year.

Dressed in her school sports uniform and carrying her school bag, a 13-year-old girl was forced into a van, driven to a secluded area and sexually assaulted after getting off a shuttle bus near Wollongong in May.

Detectives attached to Strike Force Eltanin, which was formed to investigate the brazen attack, released a comfit of the suspect on Wednesday.

He is described as tanned, of medium build with short, dark cropped hair and a small goatee and is believed to be aged in his mid 30s.

At the time of the attack he was wearing an olive green shirt and dark denim jeans.

The van the girl was forced into was white with black writing and had no windows other than the tinted front windscreen.
