Man who allegedly drove at police to face court
A 21-year-old Victorian man who allegedly drove a vehicle at police during a chase through Gympie will face court on multiple charges.
At 12.55pm on Thursday, police said they were travelling along the Bruce Highway when they attempted to intercept a vehicle containing four people.
It will be alleged the driver attempted to turn dangerously down a side street before continuing along Cross Street.
The vehicle came to a stop on Park Terrace, whereby three people left the car and ran off.
A police officer chased the car on foot as it was allegedly driven through private yards.
It will be further alleged the vehicle drove towards the police officer before coming to a stop.
No-one was physically injured.
A 21-year-old Victorian man is scheduled to appear in Gympie Magistrates Court on Friday charged with three counts of trespass, and one count each of dangerous operation of a vehicle, driving a motor vehicle without a licence, failing to stop a motor vehicle and possessing dangerous drugs.
