MANHUNT: Suspect steals car, flips it, flees police

POLICE are hunting for a suspect who flipped a stolen car on a busy Townsville street and fled the scene.

A police spokesman said officers found a white Honda, believed to be stolen, at the intersection of Ross River Rd and Gulliver St about 12.30am today.

"The driver had left the scene prior to the arrival of police," the spokesman said.

"It appears the driver had attempted to take a right hand turn from Gulliver St on to Ross River Rd and failed to negotiate the turn.

"Investigations are ongoing and police are appealing for anyone with information or dash cam footage to contact police."
