MISSING Maroochydore teenager Mia Edwards has been found safe and well.

Police made the announcement over social media just before 3pm.

It followed an earlier plea from the girl's mother, Barbara Wild, outside Maroochydore Police Station.

She fought back tears as she spoke of the 14-year-old.

Mia had last been seen on Tuesday July 30 by family at their home on Broadwater Ave.

Police thanked media and members of the public for their assistance.
