Maroons fans seeing red over Origin ticket prices

DON'T expect to see a lot of rugby league's most loyal fans at the State of Origin game in Brisbane this year - it's just too expensive, they reckon.

Ticket prices for game three at Suncorp Stadium will start at $80 for adults and rise to $265.

In comparison, adult tickets for the 2014 Bledisloe Cup match in Brisbane ranged from $89 to $199.

Queensland Rugby League managing director Robert Moore said members had responded positively to last year's new membership packages and 2015 sales were ahead of where they were this time last year.

He believed Origin ticket prices were reasonable.

"Absolutely, remembering this is a marquee event and comparatively very well priced to other events on the sporting calendar," he said.

"Concession general public tickets will be available for $60 and adult general public tickets from $80.

"With a range of categories available for general ticketing and membership, fans have many options available to them.''

General public tickets go on sale on March 17.
