Master Blaster set to open up
SIR Isaac Vivian Alexander Richards is a man who needs no introduction.
A former West Indian cricketer, “King Viv” is hailed as one of the greatest and most aggressive batsmen of the 20th Century.
He is widely regarded as the finest one-day international batsman and one of the top-five Test strokemakers in history.
It’s not often you get the chance to meet such a living legend, particularly one from Antigua, but thanks to Kirra Sports Club, that’s about to change.
Tomorrow night fans can enjoy an exclusive night hosted by the “Master Blaster” and former Australian fast bowler Rodney Hogg in their only Gold Coast appearance.
However, cricklet enthusiasts better get in quick with KSC manager Grant McKenzie saying the response had been outstanding.
“It’s been almost overwhelming and there are only a handful of tables out of 40 remaining,” he said.
“We feel honoured to have Sir Viv at the club – he’s a legend of the game.”
Richards and Hogg will share behind-the-scenes stories, controversies and career highlights.
There will also be an opportunity for guests to interact with the pair during a question and answer session at the end of the evening.
It is a night not to be missed.
Tickets are $100 per person, or $750 for a table of eight, and include an all-you-can-eat buffet and all drinks.
To book, phone Kirra Sports Club on 07 5536 7422.
The evening begins at 7pm (DST).
