Mates rally to help Holland

WHEN times are tough your true mates rally behind you, and that exactly what Jamie Myer and Company are doing for former Gold Coast boxer Julian Holland (29 wins, three losses and one draw).

At just 36, the former Commonwealth and Australian Welterweight champion has been diagnosed with cancer -a form that attacks the limp nodes at a rapid rate.

He has had a lump taken out of his neck and has started chemotherapy, but it's a long road ahead for the farrier who in 2001 made headlines for stopping Shannon Taylor in the seventh round of their title fight. Hosted by Andy Raymond and Danny McMaster from Fox Sport, the function begins at 12pm and will finish at around 4.30pm.

The price is $150 per head which includes all food, beverage and entertainment on the day. The response has been great with only 20 seats remaining, so call Blue on (04149) 392 89 to book your seats.
