Meatworks employees die in crash

TWO Casino meatworks employees have been killed in a crash on the Summerland Way at Leeville, 5km south of Casino.

Police said the crash happened about 5.45am when a Toyota Hilux, containing the two men, and a Nissan Navara collided head-on.

The two men in the Hilux died at the scene, while the man driving the Navara was treated by paramedics at the scene before being rushed to Lismore Base Hospital with spinal injuries.

The crash closed the road in both directions.

Police are searching for the cause of the crash and are looking for witnesses. Anyone with information should call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
