Meeting of the minds at salt

SOME of the “brainiest” people in the country will be in the Tweed soon for a conference dealing with matters of the mind.

The Applied Neuroscience Society of Australasia, which involves health professionals from fields including neuropsychiatry, psychology, nursing, chiropractics, naturopathy, physiotherapy and behavioural optometry, is hosting its annual conference at the Mantra Resort at Salt from July 30-August 4.

The conference, which is open to all interested professionals, is called Applied Neuroscience in Clinical Practice.

Up to 150 professionals from around the world were expected to attend the conference and workshops, spokeswoman Sue-Ellen Taylor said.

Presentations would focus on treatments that work with the brain's ability to heal itself to complement medication, Ms Taylor said.
