Mick Fanning makes a wish come true

TWEED'S current world number one surfer made a young Pottsville man's day last Saturday October 26.

Mick Fanning met Jackson Hersee and his family at the Pottsville Creek as part of the Make A Wish Foundation's presentation of a Jet Ski to the young man who has had a long journey with illness.

After being diagnosed with a malignant osteo sarcoma early in 2012 at the age of 16, the young Tweed resident has had ongoing medical treatment.

A keen surfer, Mr Hersee was no doubt over the moon with the new ski and the chance to meet one of his idols, who also presented him with a Rip Curl Wetsuit, sunscreen and headphones.

The Kawasaki 1500cc Jet Ski will no doubt get a good plenty of use under the control of Mr Hersee and his friends.
