Missing Casino man fought for his country in Afghanistan

UPDATE, 10.45am: MISSING Casino man David Wood is a soldier who fought with the Australian Army in Afghanistan, Richmond Valley Council has revealed.

Posting on its Facebook page, the council has said Mr Wood is a sapper with the army and has completed two tours of duty in Afghanistan.

It is now nearly a week since the last sighting of Mr Wood.

 

MAY 26:

POLICE have released a fresh photograph of missing Casino man David Wood as they continue to appeal for help finding him.

Mr Wood, 22, was last seen by a family member about 12.30pm on Wednesday 22 May 2013, when he left his Casino home.

Police and family have grave concerns for his welfare.

Mr Wood is described as being of Caucasian appearance, 180cm tall, athletic build, with short dark hair, and is clean

shaven.

He was last seen wearing a brown Driza-Bone jacket.

Sergeant Andrew Synott from Richmond Local Area Command said police had concluded their search on Saturday after exhausting all obvious avenues.
