Missing Hungarian backpacker found

A BACKPACKER who police feared the worst for has been found.

In February, police appealed to the public to find a Hungarian national, Patrik Merl, 28, who was last thought to be in Murwillumbah.

Police were concerned because he had not made contact with family or friends since November 8, 2012.

The man was located safe and well by police in Cloncurry and had been travelling and staying in remote areas of the state.
