Missing traveller last thought to be in Murwillumbah

POLICE are appealing for public assistance to find a missing man last thought to be in Murwillumbah.

Patrik Merl, 28, is a Hungarian national who has been travelling around Australia since February 2012.

He was thought to be in Murwillumbah on March 3, travelling alone with a large backpack and police are concerned because he has not made contact with family or friends since November 8, 2012.

Mr Merl was last seen in Mt Isa, Queensland in February 2013.

Queensland Police describe Mr Merl as Caucasian, 180cm tall and of proportionate build, with a tanned complexion and short brown hair.

Anyone who may have seen Mr Merl since November 8, 2012 is asked to contact police anonymously via Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or at www.crimestoppers.com.au.
