Mitch Parkinson demolishes competition in Oz Grom Pro

MITCH Parkinson, of Tweed Heads, continued his impressive run of form today, demolishing the competition in the Skull Candy Oz Grom Open in small, clean conditions at Lennox Head Beach this morning.

Parkinson easily accounted for Elliot Paerata Reid in the final, posting a score of 18.07 out of 20 in comparison to Reid's score of 9.5.

Parkinson' only scare in the draw was in the quarter finals where he only just beat previous winner, Italian Leo Fiorvanti 15.1 to 15 in a very tight heat.

Soli Bailey, another big name in the draw, was beaten by Parkinson in the Semi final by a comfortable three point margin.

The Nephew of current world champ Joel Parkinson continues to rise through the competition ranks, also just missing out on the open men's Queensland Circuit title earlier in the year.

Expect big things from Mitch, who has many of his Uncles qualities in and out of the water.
