More nurses than playmates inside the Playboy mansion

ACCORDING to current Playmate, Carla Howe, the Playboy mansion is following the lead of the magazine and taking a turn for the modest.

Hugh Hefner is reportedly more interested in playing chess than having orgies and the mansion, once famous for extravagant parties with the rich and the famous, is more retirement home than hedonist playground.

Howe said there are now more nurses than playmates as Hefner, 89, opts for quiet nights. Hefner is reportedly so frail he always has a nurse by his side.

According to Howe, the property is becoming decrepit, with rooms feeling "cold and unused," with drab furnishings and technology from the 1980s.

Hefner has also forced the girls to live according to his routine, joining him for dinner at 6.30pm and following a strict 9pm bedtime curfew. Howe said it's "like being in prison."
