Mother's Day is a team effort for this mother-daughter duo
JANINE Bell doesn't mind working mother days so much, only because she has her 16 year old daughter Nina along side her lending a hand.
In fact it has become a bit of a tradition for the two on mothers day, this year Nina made Janine a bacon and egg breakfast before they opened beach barista for the morning rush.
The pair grind coffee and scramble eggs for hungry breakfast patrons with a smile and team work only a mother and daughter can produce.
The family opened the cafe in Coolangatta on Griffith street six months ago, and have been making coffee's and breakfasts for customers on most Sundays long before that as well.
"I have run other coffee shops before, one in west end Brisbane and a few others.
So we are used to working on days like mothers day and its great having Nina and my husband with me," said Mr Bell.
Nicely Nestled in the bottom of the Reflections building, beach barista does one of the cheapest breakfasts on the southern gold coast, and the quality of food and coffee more than matches other café/coffee shops in the area.
Lesser offspring might make mum breakfast and spend their Sunday the usual way, relaxing at home or at the beach, but not Nina Bell.
"It's great being able to spend the day with mum even though we are working, I wouldn't have it any other way," said Miss Bell.
