Motorbike crash causes 8km traffic jam on Pacific Highway
A MOTORBIKE crash caused chaos on the Pacific Hwy last night.
Just across the border a motorbike rider, 21, and his female passenger, 22, came off the bike about 4.15pm.
Emergency services were called to the scene just before the Stewart Rd, Currumbin exit.
South bound traffic was backed up for almost 8km.
"One lane was closed on the motorway," a Queensland Police spokeswoman said.
A Queensland Ambulance spokeswoman said the male driver suffered a lower leg fracture and was transported to Tweed Hospital in a stable condition.
The female passenger sustained no injuries.
