Motorcycle fatality on Tweed Valley Way

UPDATE 12.35pm: THE sheet-draped body of a motorcyclist killed on Tweed Valley Way this morning remains on the road at the turn-off to Stokers Siding. 

Emergency service workers are on site including police and the Tweed District Rescue Squad.

Motorists are being asked to avoid the area. 

 

ORIGINAL STORY: THERE is an unconfirmed report of the death of a motorcyclist following a collision at the turn-off to Stokers Siding.

A motorist has told the Tweed Daily News that a "crumpled" motorbike was lying in the middle of the southbound lane on Tweed Valley Way.

What was believed to be a body with a sheet over the top was lying nearby.

A NSW Ambulance spokesman confirmed they had been called to a collision between a car and motorbike at 10.30am.

They referred all other inquiries to local police who have been contacted for comment.

Police were on the scene of the accident.
