Motorcycle rider injured in crash at Murwillumbah
A MOTORCYCLIST has been seriously injured after crashing into a guard rail at Murwillumbah.
About 11.30am yesterday a group of riders were travelling south-east along Numinbah Road, near Mt Tomewin Road.
Police said it appeared that a 45-year-old Queensland man failed to negotiate a bend in the road and crashed into a guardrail.
A second rider, a 56-year-old man also from Queensland then crashed into the rider.
The initial rider sustained fractures to his legs and was airlifted by Lifesaver 4 to the Gold Coast University Hospital in a critical condition.
The other rider received only minor abrasions.
A crime scene has been established and the scene will be forensically examined.
Investigations are continuing.
