Motorcyclist airlifted from Uki crash

A MAN has been airlifted to hospital with serious injuries after a crash on Kyogle Rd near Uki.

Shortly after 12.30pm Tuesday, Emergency services were called to the scene, where a car and motorbike collided, about 10km south of Uki.

A NSW Ambulance spokeswoman said the 42-year-old male motorbike rider was airlifted to Gold Coast University Hospital in a serious condition.

"The male had chest, arm and leg injuries," the spokeswoman said.

She said the female driver of the car was taken to Murwillumbah Hospital in a stable condition with minor injuries.

No other people were injured.

Tweed/Byron Local Area Command Inspector Adrian Telfer said police remained on scene as of about 2pm.
