Queensland motorcyclists to join in celebrations
RIDERS from across Queensland will return to the Fraser Coast this weekend to mark Marborough Motorcyclists Club's centenary.
They will relive a century of thrills and spills on two wheels at a number of events, which will include a celebration ride from Maryborough Showgrounds to the Urangan Pier and back on Saturday.
Club publicity officer Rob Owens said it should be a ripper day.
"People are coming from across the state - I know people who are coming from Townsville and Mackay down to the Gold Coast," he said.
"A lot of old riders will be there."
Owens encouraged riders of all ages and backgrounds to join the club for the "100 years celebration" .
It has been a busy few weeks for the club after last week's swap meet and junior-dominated racing.
Owens said Brodie Turnbull, Broe Miller, Mitch Kruger and Emma Scott were just a few of the juniors who shone last week, while the likes of Denis Liebke and Robert Komen also earned wins in their classes.
All focus has been on the 100-year celebration however, and Action Park will crawl with huge numbers of riders.
