Mowerman to cut his way to Hope Island on Father’s Day
CLAUDE 'Mowerman' Harvey will turn the tables this Father's Day, foregoing the special occasion to raise funds for child protection advocate Bravehearts.
The 68-year-old grandfather will commence his annual eight day walk this Sunday, with his lawnmower in tow, from Tweed Heads to Hope Island return to raise money and awareness for kids affected by sexual assault.
Mr Harvey has raised almost $600,000 for national child protection advocate Bravehearts thanks to his unusual ventures.
"The perfect gift is the gift of giving," Mr Harvey said.
Coinciding with Mr Harvey's walk is National Child Protection Week, which is held from September 1 to 7.
Bravehearts founder and executive director Hetty Johnson will join Mr Harvey in walking the first part of the mow-a-thon.
