Rain ruins DV rally plans

STORMY weather has forced the cancellation of a massive rally against the epidemic this evening in Brisbane's CBD.

The rally was to serve as a memorial for two Queensland women and a child allegedly murdered in what police say were family violence-related attacks.

Organisers said they would reschedule the rally as soon as possible since the deaths, the state's only domestic violence hotline, DV Connect, has been inundated with 400 calls a day.
