Muggers rob pedestrian

TWEED Police are searching for three males who mugged a 20-year-old man in Tweed Heads on Thursday night.

The victim was walking in Minjungbal Drive about 11pm when he was robbed, Sergeant Mark Garner said.

“As the man approached the Coles service station he noticed a group of males and females,” Sgt Garner said.

“The victim was talking on his phone. The offenders approached him, one asked to use his phone and he stated he had no credit.”

Sgt Garner said the three men then attacked the young man, leaving him with numerous grazes and a bloody, swollen lip.

The first offender was described as having a large build and dark skin, the second male was wearing a black hoody which covered his face and the third offender was not described.

“They ran off towards Tweed Heads Skate Park after the attack,” Sgt Garner said.

Tweed Police are appealing for information about the identity of the offenders or any witnesses to the incident.
