Mur'bah set to kick some arts
THE Murwillumbah Festival of Performing Arts kicks off on Thursday, June 14 with speech and drama sessions in the morning, afternoon and evening until June 19.
"This year we are fortunate to have a wonderful adjudicator from Brisbane," speech and drama convenor Rosie Tucker said.
"Patricia Buchanan has been working as a teacher and adjudicator for over 30 years.
"She was a specialist teacher at Somerville House in Brisbane for many years and opened an arts book shop there which she ran with her husband.
"She has adjudicated all over QLD and NSW and is very excited about her first visit to Murwillumbah to adjudicate our Eisteddfod.
"This year we have eight local primary schools participating in the choir sections.
"There will also be a fabulous group drama, including poetry and mime."
Choir sections will perform on Tuesday, June 19, with group drama on Saturday, June 16 and Sunday, June 17.
The J.J. Richards Scholarship evening will be on Saturday June 16 at 7pm.
"The scholarship evening promises to showcase some amazing drama performances," Ms Tucker said.
