MURWILLUMBAH Football Club (MFC) A-grade had their first loss of the season against Mudgeeraba in the Gold Coast Premier League semi-finals on Saturday.

MFC went down 3-0 and will be looking to return to form against them when they meet again this Saturday.

Reserve grade fared better against Mudgeeraba, finishing the match with a 2-2 draw.

MFC vice-president Mick McCarthy was disappointed with the A-grade loss, but was hopeful the club could regain on Saturday, and make their way into a coveted grand final position.

"We're the better football team, but they just had more desire and a hunger to win," he said.

MFC will need to win by three goals against Mudgeeraba to cap their dream season with a shot at the grand finals.

The Brisbane Roar also attended Saturday's game to watch the premier league proceedings, have a chat with fans and sign autographs, attracting a huge crowd of supporters.

"There was about seven or eight hundred people there," Mr McCarthy said.

"It was fantastic, just fantastic."

The little club that could has shocked their northern competitors this season, proving they've got what it takes to climb to the top of the ladder.
