South Korean student murder case adjourned for seven months
THE former Ipswich teen charged with murdering a South Korean student will wait another seven months before his case is mentioned again.
Alex Reuben McEwan is accused of murdering Eunji Ban, 22, during the early hours of November 24, 2013 in Brisbane's Wickham Park.
Mr McEwan's case was briefly mentioned at Brisbane Magistrates Court on Thursday.
The Queensland Mental Health Court has previously found Mr McEwan was of sound mind when the murder occurred but is currently unfit to stand trial.
Brisbane Magistrates Court heard on Thursday his unfitness to stand trial was temporary and that his case had been referred to the Mental Health Review Tribunal, which will review his case periodically.
Mr McEwan's case has been adjourned until June 2 next year. He is currently in custody and did not apply for bail.
