Murwillum-BER hall opened
A FEDERAL member went back to school today.
Richmond MP Justine Elliot was at Murwillumbah Public School to open the $2 million hall that the Federal Government provided as part of the Building the Education Revolution program.
"These facilities are an investment in our future and will deliver better education outcomes for students in your community and throughout Australia," Mrs Elliot said.
"They are changing the way our students learn and giving teachers and staff a more enjoyable place to work.
"The bricks and mortar of these buildings are merely the foundations on which long term social and educational benefits will be built and continue to flow to Australian students and communities for years to come."
The electorate of Richmond has received more than $115 million for 205 projects in 90 local schools through the Building the Education Revolution.
"Projects like the multi-purpose hall at Murwillumbah Public School are making a real difference by improving the learning environment for our children," Mrs Elliot said.
She said the Federal Labor Government's investment had resulted in libraries, science labs, classrooms and multi-purpose halls being built across the country.
