Dancers show no signs of slowing

THE 2011 Murwillumbah Festival of Performing Arts may be coming to an end but the dancers are showing no sign of slowing down.

Festival president Arthur Holmes said both he and the visiting adjudicators had been impressed with the level of talent on show across all sections.

“We are starting to wind down now,” Mr Holmes said.

“We started with the 14-year-old performers today and the standard was very high.

“The performers have been working very hard and trying to reach the top.”

Mr Holmes said the 80th year of the festival had been a great success with performers travelling from far and wide to compete at the Murwillumbah Civic Centre.

“We finish on Thursday but there is still a lot of excitement because the standard of performance has been so high.”
