Revenge on the menu for Gents
THE Gentlemen of Murwillumbah will have just one thing on their mind this afternoon – revenge.
There will be no pleasantries exchanged when Evans Head arrive at Murwillumbah Leagues Club, just some big hits.
When the two sides last met in round five, Murwillumbah appeared on track to secure its maiden Village Comp victory.
Yet the FNCRU newcomers were forced to wait another month until they cracked their egg, gut-wrenchingly egded out 17-14. Under the guidance of coach Peter Crittle the Gents have come along way in the seven rounds since and are keen to show Evans Head exactly how far.
“The boys are extremely keen to make amends,” the Gents’ Geoff Campbell said.
“The forwards in particular are looking to get stuck in.
“If we can get on top around the breakdown and give our rapidly improving backline plenty of opportunities, we should get the win we deserved last time.”
Kick-off is at 2.30pm.
Elsewhere, Kyogle battle Byron Bay, Mullumbimby meet Iluka and Bangalow host Yamba.
In the Gold Coast Rugby Union, Coolangatta-Tweed will look to snap its eight-game losing streak against bottom-placed Bond Pirates at Goodwin Park this afternoon.
