Nail-biters lead into grand finals

TWEED Border Hockey juniors began their finals on Saturday morning in Murwillumbah.

In the under-11 girls, minor premiers Kingscliff went down to Casuarina Aqua 2-0 in a very exciting game.

Casuarina scored midway through the second half and sealed the match when they scored again with two minutes to go.

Casuarina will play arch rivals Casuarina Black in the grand-final.

In the under-11s boys, Casuarina beat Waratahs 2-1 in a close game and will now face

minor premiers Kingscliff in the grand final.

In the under-13 boys, Redbacks played a great game to beat Waratahs 3-0 on Friday night. Waratahs have done extremely well considering half the team is made up of under-11s.

Redbacks will take on minor premiers Casuarina in the grand final.

War-Units and Kingscliff had a 0-0 draw in a very exciting and physical under-16 girls' game.

The game went into extra time and the final score was still 0-0, but as Kingscliff are higher on the ladder they advance through to the grand final to play minor premiers Casuarina.
